I particularly like how they are so gently firm with him. He does not know that he has dementia. He thinks he can still do everything for himself. This week, I called in when the carer was giving him his shower. Neither of them had heard me come in. I was not checking up but simply waited until they had finished. This shy private man, with so few pleasures left to him, was able to have a lovely shower, treated with good care and dignity. This firm is proactive.
